Austin Powers

Some shoots are just more fun than others. It was great to have a very talented Austin Powers impersonator in the studio for a shoot for TMG.  This is just a screen capture of the video we shot. I hope to have a secondary roll of the video up on the website soon. Shooting photographs is different than directing video. When working with actors on still photography, I speak directly to the models as I am shooting them. […]

Altec

We had a great time shooting outdoor stills and video for Altec.  Being outdoors on a beautiful day really makes one appreciate both the career choice and living in California. We were working with Valerie from Altec. She is one of those healthy people who runs like 20 miles ever morning or something like that. Looks healthy, eats healthy, is healthy.  So she had no problem trenching through the fields helping to carry equipment.  So I wasn’t embarrassed […]

Natalie Hawkins

Natalie is a wonderful pop signer. Loved having her in the studio.   I do enjoy shooting celebrities. Even more than that, I truly enjoy taking photographs of people who are full of talent that can be recognized as future celebrities.  Natalie and I got along famously.  Just a full pleasure working with her because she love’s what she does. As do I. So we ended up taking much longer on this session than I imagined. But neither one […]

Borax Video

Out in Denver Colorado on a video shoot for Borax. Cool Lab for Rio Tinto. Check out that very intense camera operator.  SO L.A. . . . . this was more of a commercial video than a creative body of work. But traveling out of town always bring on extra work and extra fun. the extra working is getting together the crew and equipment and making certain everything you need is there on location when you need it. […]

Family Break

We are so lucky to live in California. I took the family on a trip to the coast to see the baby elephant seals. The docents wont allow people go close anymore to the seals or pups anymore. But there are some great sand dunes close at hand, that make for great images.

Law Foundation

The Law foundation is one of my favorite clients. Love helping out these good folk.  This video just shows a lighting and movement test with a terrible stand in model. I just couldn’t get this guy to smile. And boy does he need some make-up…. The Law Foundation is one of those project where I am asked to work with Real People, trying to get them to feel comfortable being in front of the camera with a pretty […]

Perfect Snack Food

Finally found the perfect snack food. It never goes bad, insects will have nothing to do with it. And it tastes oh so good. I assume. Too bad the place was closed so I didn’t get a chance t find out.  Actually, we were on Spring Break with the kids in Santa Cruz. I came across this stand and HAD to shoot it.  I really did want to try a deep fried Twinkie, just to see what it […]

Tely Video

In the Sunnyvale Studio with Zooka shooting for Tely.  Always love shooting with Zooka because the energy is non-stop. It was a little interesting for me on this shoot because I am used to being the director. But on this shoot, Steve, the C.D. has such an energetic personality, that he just keeps people going. So I played more of a producer / gaffer on this shoot. Would have directed the models a little differently myself. But since […]

SANTA

Yes, that IS the REAL Santa. He comes to visit me every year before his trek. He is always looking for a few secrets on how to make people feel good about themselves.   I do what I can….. Actually, we produced this image with a local actors agency that specializes in look alike’s for events.  He was the PERFECT Santa though.

Tree Time Lapse

This is fun to look at. Nothing like the final video, but quick view of what we waited 4 hours in the cold to see, before we made the trek down the mountain with the truck.
